The Cyprus taxi drivers blocked the road to the terminal with their cars in order to attract attention of the government and public to the problem of illegal drivers.
According to the chairman of the Larnaca taxi divers Association, the officials keep omitting to implement any changes, regardlesso f numerous complaints made to the competent services.
The illegal drivers are not only stealing business from the qualified taxi drivers, but are also putting passengers in danger, because such transportation is not insured – according to the protesters.
The protest at the Larnaca Airport was supervised by the police.
