Nicosia, Cyprus. Eight people were arrested during police operations carried out on Saturday night, during which officers also issued 329 traffic citations, including 96 for speeding.
The arrests were linked to offences including drug possession, drink-driving and illegal residence on the island.
Checks and inspections
Police stopped 511 vehicles and checked 652 drivers and passengers during the operation.
Officers also inspected 58 premises, resulting in eight reports.
Test results and impounded vehicles
A total of 291 breathalyser tests were conducted, with 30 drivers testing positive.
Police also carried out 10 preliminary roadside drug tests, six of which were positive.
Twenty-two cars were impounded as part of the operation.
