Erdogan has threatened the EU to withdraw from the agreement

Тайип Эрдоган

The President of Turkey Tayyip Erdogan has threated the EU that Turkey will withdraw from the migration agreement, if the EU will not provide visa-free access to its territory.

Moreover, Erdogan has expressed his discontent about the fact that Turkey did not yet receive the money which the EU was supposed to pay to Ankara in accordance with the migration agreement.

At the beginning of May the European Commission has offered to the European Parliament and Council of Europe to lift the visa requirement for the Turkish citizens if Ankara will fulfil the relevant obligations until the end of June.
