Ex-President of Cyprus suggested to remove anti-Russian sanctions

At the presentation of his books “Thoughts of future and past” in Moscow, Mr. Georgios Vasilliou stated that Cyprus will assist to improve the relationship between the EU and Russia and it will make everything possible un order to lift the anti-Russian sanctions. He also added that the “do not benefit neither peace, neither the EU nor Russia”.

The European Union imposed the sanctions due to the situation in Ukraine. They will elapse in January of the next year. One of the main conditions to remove the sanctions is compliance with the Minsk agreements.
