Nicosia, Cyprus. The Faneromeni26 Arts Festival will once again bring free open-air cinema nights to the heart of old Nicosia at the courtyard of the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation. The screenings are organised in association with The Friends of Cinema Society.
Screening schedule
The cinema series begins on July 2 with William Shakespeare’s Romeo+Juliet at 8.30pm.
On July 23, the programme continues with the 2025 film Lilo & Stitch, a family-friendly adventure dubbed in Greek. The live-action remake of the Disney animated film follows Lilo and her adopted pet, Stitch, and is set against the landscapes of Hawaii.
On August 6, Big Fish will open the month’s programme. The Tim Burton film, blending fantasy and drama, will be screened in English with Greek subtitles.
The series concludes on August 27 with Tim Burton’s Dumbo The Movie. The fantasy adventure film will be screened in Greek with Greek subtitles.
Film details
Big Fish follows Edward Bloom, a storyteller in the final stage of his life who continues to tell fantastical tales. His estranged son, Will, tries to determine the truth behind the stories shortly before the end.
Dumbo The Movie is based on Dumbo, The Flying Elephant by Helen Aberson and is loosely inspired by the 1941 Walt Disney film of the same name. It stars Colin Farrell, Eva Green, Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito and Alan Arkin.

All screenings begin at 8.30pm, except children’s screenings, which start at 8pm. The festival’s 2026 events will continue until September 10, offering cultural evenings in the capital.
