Palestinian Embassy criticises report on Israeli military precision technology

Nicosia, Cyprus. The Palestinian Embassy said on Friday that a recent report on Israeli military precision technology raised questions that could not be ignored, criticising the report in a response submitted to Phileleftheros.

Embassy response

The Embassy said the report prompted questions about the use of advanced technology by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip.

It asked why, if such technology exists, occupation forces demolish entire city blocks in search of targets and why the killing of small children and civilians continues if the technology can see through walls.

Questions over the system

The Embassy also asked whether the system had been deliberately configured to exclude the detection of small children.

It further questioned why the report had expressed no reaction to what it described as the obvious implications of the technology its author was promoting.

Statement on civilian deaths

“Because we have no illusions,” the Embassy said. “We know that Israeli occupation forces deliberately target and kill small children and civilians — something that was made clear in the most official way by the United Nations just days ago — and they will continue to do so regardless of technological advancement.”

“Humanity and technology do not necessarily go hand in hand,” the Embassy concluded.
