The prices of fruits and vegetables are several times higher than last year.
For example, in comparison with the previous year, the price of tomatoes triples, and the price of white beats shot up from 4 up to 7 Euros.
Lemons now cost twice as much and watermelons cost 4 times more.
The increase in prices is the result of the bad weather in Cyprus over the last few months. Initially hail destroyed the crops, which followed by a heatwave, which destroyed the produce.
The decrease in supply of fruits and vegetable has therefore resulted in the increase in prices.
