Stroumbi, Cyprus. Hadjicharalambous Winery, a family-run boutique producer in Stroumbi village, makes small-volume wines from four and a half hectares of vineyards while offering visitors tasting experiences with the owners and winemakers.
Family vineyards and small-scale production
Cyprus wine regions include family-owned wineries of varying sizes, from larger producers with extensive tasting facilities to smaller wineries offering more intimate visits.
In 2022, mechanical engineer Christos Hadjicharalambous decided to focus on the family vineyards. A self-taught winemaker, he has adopted low-intervention practices and produces five wines from Chardonnay, Sémillon, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.
Annual output is limited to around 4,000 bottles, with the winery prioritising quality over quantity and maintaining hands-on attention throughout the winemaking process.
Visitor experiences
The winery offers visitor experiences intended to connect guests with the winemaking process. Its location in Stroumbi, surrounded by the area’s scenery, provides a setting for tastings aimed at both newcomers and experienced wine drinkers.
