Konia road works in Paphos enter final phase ahead of schedule

Paphos, Cyprus. Construction work on Konia road has entered its final phase and is expected to be completed ahead of its scheduled September deadline, acting Paphos mayor Angelos Onisiforou said on Monday.

The project began five months ago and has caused disruptions, delays and inconvenience in surrounding areas.

Completion timeline

Onisiforou said the roadworks had originally been scheduled for completion in September but would now be finished earlier than expected.

He said the municipality aims to deliver projects that improve residents’ daily lives while minimising disruption to the public.

Site coordination

Municipal staff are present at the construction site daily to coordinate work with the contractor and supervising engineers, Onisiforou said.

He said this cooperation was important for ensuring the project progressed safely and without delays.

Traffic access

As part of the project, Konia road was closed for a week to allow work required before its reopening to the public.

Onisiforou had previously said the road would be fully reopened to traffic on Tuesday.
