Nicosia, Cyprus. Police arrested a man following a disturbance on Ledras Street reported on Monday afternoon. Police also reported seven arrests during coordinated overnight patrols across Cyprus.
Incident on Ledras Street
Police said a shop owner in the Ledras area contacted authorities to report that a foreign national was banging on a premises door and causing concern.
A police officer responded to the scene, identified the individual and located him nearby. Police said that when the officer attempted to approach him, the man reacted aggressively and threatened to strike him with a cone.
The officer restrained the suspect, who was then arrested, according to police.
Overnight patrols across Cyprus
Police said they carried out coordinated, targeted patrols across Cyprus overnight, leading to seven arrests as part of efforts to prevent serious crime and strengthen the public sense of security.
