A discussion on possible ways how to handle the growing population of mosquitoes was held this week in Limassol.
At the meeting with the representatives of local communities, the Ministry of Health and British bases, the mayor of Limassol emphasized the importance of identifying the cause of the problem, as well as developing a set of effective measures to improve the situation.
Recent rains have contributed to the significant growth of number of mosquitoes on the island, specifically hatching outbreaks are common in lakes, standing waters and swamps.
