Poland upgrades Cyprus travel advisory to level 1, deputy tourism minister says it boosts safety image

Nicosia, Cyprus. Cyprus Deputy Minister of Tourism Kostas Koumis said Poland’s decision to upgrade its travel advisory for Cyprus to level 1 is a positive development for the country’s tourism outlook and international safety perception.

Poland’s advisory and tourism perceptions

Koumis said the upgrade places Cyprus in the category recommending normal caution and strengthens the country’s image as a safe tourist destination.

In comments to the Cyprus News Agency (CNA), he also referred to a recent informal meeting of EU tourism ministers, saying it conveyed a message of optimism and influenced perceptions of Cyprus.

Koumis said participants had the opportunity to experience the destination first-hand, confirming the high level of safety and hospitality. He added that several delegates referred in their interventions to the positive image projected by Cyprus as a tourist destination and to the hospitality they experienced.

Summer season outlook and air transport

Asked about the outlook for the summer tourism season, Koumis expressed cautious optimism but said it was too early for safe forecasts despite positive indications.

He said developments in the air transport sector would play a decisive role.

How do you think Poland’s travel advisory upgrade could affect your decision to visit Cyprus this summer?
