Nicosia, Cyprus. Police arrested seven individuals overnight for offences including theft, drug possession, failure to appear in court, impersonation and outstanding fine warrants during coordinated patrols in key urban areas. Police said the operations aimed to prevent serious crime and maintain public order.
Checks and inspections
Police said officers stopped and checked 277 drivers and 90 passengers during the operations. A total of 32 premises were inspected and nine reports were filed.
Traffic enforcement
Traffic checks led to 159 reports for various road offences, while eight cases of traffic violations remain under investigation. Police said 94 drivers were reported for speeding and four vehicles were detained during investigations.
Alcohol and drug tests
Police said 36 alcohol tests were conducted, resulting in two reports. Six drivers tested positive in drug tests.
Ongoing operations
Police said coordinated operations will continue daily with increased presence, targeted checks and immediate operational response to enhance public safety and maintain law and order.
