Several political parties in Cyprus have already started their election campaigns. During the last weekend, the “Civil Alliance” party has elected their candidate for the presidential elections. The overwhelming majority (114) went to Mr. George Lillikas.
The current president of Cyprus Mr. Nicos Anastasiades will also take part in the elections in 2018. However, the government spokesman Mr. Nicos Christodoullides said that it is too early to concentrate on the presidential race, because it is important to resume the negotiations.
Mr. Christodoulides also added that “if we started the campaign one year before the elections, then nothing would be done”
