The Google Search engine, which is blocked in China, became available for the residents of China on Tuesday, 29th of March from 22:30pm until 01:15am local time.
However other Internet resources- such as Facebook and YouTube remained blocked.
Most probably, Google managed to by-pass the block by launching new servers in Asia. The availability of the search engine was widely discussed in the Chinese social networks and was considered as the return to the freedom of speech.
The Google services remain blocked in China since 2010. The restriction was imposed because the company rejected the demand of the Chinese authorities to install filter system.
