Thanos Hotels & Resorts invests €10 million in Anassa upgrade in Neo Chorio, Paphos

Neo Chorio, Cyprus. Thanos Hotels & Resorts has carried out a €10 million investment in Anassa in Neo Chorio, Paphos, to reinforce the hotel’s position among luxury destinations in the Mediterranean. The upgrade forms part of the group’s broader plan to have its total managed portfolio value exceed €1 billion by 2029.

The group said the investment covers rooms, hospitality services and gastronomic experiences, reflecting a long-running strategy of continuous evolution. Anassa is described as the flagship property of Thanos Hotels & Resorts, with the hotel maintaining its reputation as a high-end hospitality destination.

Property profile and guest history

Anassa has hosted and continues to host well-known figures from Cyprus and abroad. The group said the hotel’s location, architectural identity and attention to detail have shaped its status as a premium Mediterranean destination, which it aims to preserve while enhancing the offering.

Renovation timeline and design collaboration

The most recent €10 million renovation was completed in 2026 and included refurbishment of suites and villas, covering more than 76 accommodation units. Earlier investment phases took place in 2016 and 2021, focusing primarily on room refurbishment and shared spaces. The latest works were delivered in collaboration with Yabu Pushelberg, with the aim of preserving the hotel’s identity while enhancing the guest experience.

Gastronomy updates

The hotel’s gastronomic offering was refreshed with the introduction of Grill at Amphora, an à la carte evening concept focused on authenticity and high-quality ingredients.
