The Cyprus authorities condemned the strike of the teachers

The Cyprus authorities are urging the members of the POED trade union, which consist of the teachers of the primary schools, to conduct constructive negotiations instead of depriving students of their right to study and dismissing the students earlier.

Last Wednesday the Primary school teachers and Kindergarden teachers have ended the classes 1 hour earlier. In such a way they demonstrated that they will stand up for their rights in case if the problems will not be resolved.

The teachers are not happy with the timetable and conditions for new teachers- for example, the school does not sign a proper annual contract with them.
