The Cyprus government objects the supply of electricity from Turkey

Электросеть

The government of the Republic of Cyprus believes that the Contract, which was signed by Turkey and so-called Northern Cyprus, does not have legal power in accordance with the International Law.

The relevant letter addressed to the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon was already signed by the representative of Cyprus in the UN – Mr. Menelaos Menelaou. The letter states that this agreement is nothing else, but a provocation of Turkey and that the Northern Cyprus must synchronize its electrical grid with the Republic in order to strengthen the trust.

The agreement between Northern Cyprus and Turkey provides for cooperation in the sector of electricity supply, as well as supply of oil, natural gas and renewable energy sources.
