From today and until the 28th of December the Makarios Avenue in Nicosia will be blocked for the vehicles. According to the Municipality, this will not affect the safety of the city: the access for the emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire engines will remain open in case if there is such a need. The necessary measures were also taken in order to ensure the access to the shops and offices of that region remains uninterrupted, which includes parking and supply of goods. For the purposes of creating the “Christmas Avenue”, a couple of other streets in the city will also be closed for traffic.
