Treasury outlines 2027–2029 strategic plan priorities and operational framework

Nicosia, Cyprus. The Treasury on Monday announced its strategic plan for the period 2027–2029, outlining priorities and an operational framework for the coming years.


Strategic objectives and scope

According to the announcement, the strategic planning framework defines the organisation’s strategic objectives and key pillars of activity, setting the direction for its work over the next three years. The plan is described as a comprehensive framework of actions and operations aimed at ensuring sound fiscal management and modernising state systems.

Transparency and service delivery

The plan also seeks to strengthen transparency while delivering high-quality services to the public sector, citizens, and businesses.

Core activities and EU financial interests

“The objective of the Treasury of the Republic is to promote sound management of public resources and reliable accounting operations,” the announcement stated. It added that core activities include providing accounting and financial management services to the public sector, ensuring an effective and transparent framework for managing public contracts, and safeguarding the financial interests of the European Union.

Digital transformation and alignment with European standards

Within this framework, the Treasury said particular emphasis is placed on digital transformation, improving the efficiency of public resource management, and aligning practices with European best standards and norms.

Implementation and monitoring

The Treasury said implementation will be carried out through specific actions and measurable targets, which will be systematically monitored to support continuous improvement and the achievement of intended outcomes.
