Turkey aims to explore outer space

Turkey will construct a spaceport in the self-proclaimed Turkish Republic of the Northern Cyprus or in the Datcha city on the Mediterranean coastline.

According to the Turkish Prime Minister Ahmed Davoutoglou, the Turkish authorities, in the next 3 months, are planning to announce the formation of the space agency. The relevant legislation must be approved by the cabinet and the Parliament.

Turkey intends to launch satellites, explore the outer space and participate in the operation of the International Space Station. Turkish specialist have carefully examined the existing experience of space programmes of USA, Germany, France and Japan.
