Paphos, Cyprus. Two people were arrested on suspicion of stealing more than 150 kilograms of electricity cables belonging to the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC), police said on Thursday.
Cables found at metal trading premises
Police said the cables were found at the premises of two metal trading companies. The cables were identified as a type used exclusively by the EAC.
A total of 50 kilograms of cables were found at one premises, while 100 kilograms were found at the other.
Owners released pending court summons
The owners of both premises were arrested, charged in writing and released. They are expected to be summoned to court at a later date.
