Limassol, Cyprus. Eins gallery is presenting On Second Thoughts, the first solo exhibition by Alexandros Pissourios, until December 15. It is among several new exhibitions in Limassol this month, many coinciding with the fifth edition of Limassol Art Walks, held in early October.

From domestic spaces to the outdoors

The exhibition takes Pissourios’ home surroundings as its starting point before moving towards a valley close to his London home. These settings bring desire and social interaction into contact with the outdoors.

Pissourios focuses on fleeting moments and chance occurrences, drawing on his encounters with people, familiar places and the objects that surround him at home. Through observation, positioning himself and filming, he records objects acquiring a presence and small events taking shape. Interruptions form a sequence in which images drift into one another.

Photography, film and video

Working between London and Cyprus, Pissourios is an artist and filmmaker whose media include photography, video and 16mm film. His practice shifts between staged situations and observation, developing through repeated returns to particular places and bodies.

For On Second Thoughts, he uses multiple exposures made within the camera, looping sound and single-frame filming at intervals.

Opening hours and appointments

The exhibition is at Eins gallery, Limassol. Opening hours are 4pm–8pm from Wednesday to Friday and 11am–2pm on Saturday. Visits are by appointment.
