During the conferences which took place back in January, President Anastasiades has rigidly rejected the demands put forward by Turkey.

Ankara insists to provide to Turkish-Cypriots the “4 Freedoms of the EU” after the reunification. In case if this is accepted, then Turkish-Cypriots will enjoy freedom of movement, of relocation of capital, goods and service, as if Turkey was an EU member state.

Anastasiades believes that acceptance of such terms would’ve been equal to political suicide.
