Cloudy weather and high temperatures forecast for Tuesday

Nicosia, Cyprus. Tuesday will be mainly cloudy, with temperatures expected to reach 36°C inland, while isolated showers and thunderstorms are forecast later in the week.

Tuesday forecast

Temperatures are expected to rise to around 30°C on the west coast, 33°C on the rest of the coast and 27°C in the higher mountains.

Winds will initially be variable and weak, at 3 to 4 Beaufort, gradually becoming southwesterly to northwesterly. On the south coast, winds will strengthen during the afternoon to up to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough.

Tonight’s conditions

The weather will be mostly clear overnight, with low cloud and sparse fog or mist expected to form locally later, mainly in eastern areas.

Temperatures will fall to around 18°C inland, 21°C on the coast and 16°C in the higher mountains. Winds will become mainly northwesterly to northeasterly, reaching up to 3 Beaufort, while the sea will generally be a little rough.

Outlook

Increased cloud cover on Wednesday afternoon is expected to bring isolated showers to the mountains and possibly inland areas.

Isolated rain and thunderstorms are forecast in the mountains and inland on Thursday. Local rain and isolated thunderstorms are expected across the island on Friday.

Temperatures are not expected to change significantly on Wednesday, before falling by Friday.
