Nicosia, Cyprus. Women born in 2004 and men whose birth years are 1972 and 1973 have been called to register for a two-year service period with Cyprus Civil Defence. The interior ministry announced the call-up on Wednesday following a cabinet decision.

Eligibility and registration dates

The ministry said the requirement covers citizens living in territory controlled by the Republic of Cyprus. The process is governed by the Civil Defence Regulations of 1997 and a related notice from the interior minister.

Women are required to register between Monday, October 19, and Friday, October 23. The registration period for men runs from Monday, November 9, until Friday, November 13.

These dates cover the districts of Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos and Famagusta, though venues and opening hours differ.

According to the ministry, residents will register at regional Civil Defence directorates, local stations, substations or community council offices, with the venue determined by where they live. Anyone registering must bring their identity card.

Urban registration arrangements

For urban residents in Nicosia, Limassol and Larnaca, the ministry said regional Civil Defence offices will handle registration during two daily sessions: 8.30am–2.30pm and 5.30pm–7.30pm.

Arrangements for rural communities

In rural Nicosia, the ministry said residents can attend regional offices during the 5.30pm–7.30pm session. Local stations and community council offices will accept registrations between 6pm and 8pm.

For rural communities in Limassol, community council offices will provide registration between 8.30am and 2.30pm. Regional Civil Defence offices will also accept registrations during the 5.30pm–7.30pm session.

Rural residents in Larnaca can register at regional offices between 5.30pm and 7.30pm, or use local stations and community council offices during the 6.30pm–8.30pm session, the ministry said.
