Cyprus petroleum product sales rise 18.6% in March 2026, Cystat reports

Nicosia, Cyprus. Petroleum product sales in Cyprus rose 18.6% year-on-year in March 2026 to 127,272 tonnes, according to the Cyprus Statistical Service (Cystat). The increase came amid ongoing volatility in fuel prices.

Year-on-year changes by product

Cystat reported the largest increases in marine gasoil, up 156.3%, and kerosene, up 149.5%. Heating gasoil rose 70.9% and asphalt sales increased 68.0%.

Liquefied petroleum gases increased 50.4%, aviation kerosene rose 8.6%, road diesel increased 8.0%, and motor gasoline was up 4.6%. In contrast, sales of heavy fuel oil fell 65.5% and light fuel oil declined 48.3%.

Filling station sales

Sales from filling stations alone increased 12.5% to 62,528 tonnes.

Monthly comparison and stocks

Total sales rose 13.7% compared with February 2026, driven by higher consumption of aviation kerosene, marine gasoil, road diesel and motor gasoline.

Petroleum stocks increased 4.1% at the end of March compared with the previous month.

First-quarter performance and market context

For the first quarter of 2026, total sales increased 9.8%, Cystat said.

The rise in demand was reported against a backdrop of fuel price volatility shaped by international market trends and geopolitical developments.
