Demetra Holdings expects lower nine-month profit in 2026 amid CSE investment losses
Demetra Holdings Plc expects its nine-month 2026 profit to fall year on year, mainly due to anticipated losses on Cyprus Stock Exchange investments.

Nicosia, Cyprus. Cypriot investment firm Demetra Holdings Plc warned on Friday that its profit for the first nine months of 2026 is expected to be lower than in the corresponding period of 2025, mainly because of anticipated losses on its Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) investments.
Expected decline in profitability
The company said the warning was based on indications available to date and was issued to inform shareholders and the wider investment community about its expected financial performance.
Demetra attributed the expected decline mainly to anticipated losses on its CSE investments, compared with gains generated by those investments in the same period last year.
Gain from subsidiary acquisition
The group said its nine-month 2026 results will also include a gain of more than €6 million from the recognition of negative goodwill arising from the acquisition of a subsidiary.
That gain was already included in Demetra Holdings’ first-half 2026 results, which were announced on the CSE on September 16.
Further share buyback
The warning came on the same day the company announced another buyback of its own shares.
Demetra Holdings said the purchase was carried out through Cyprus Investment & Securities Corp Ltd (CISCO) during the September 30 trading session, under authorisation granted by its annual general meeting on June 30, 2026.
The company purchased 4,400 shares at €1.38 per share, for a total consideration of €6,072.
