The Presidential political party DISY won in the elections in Cyprus. They have acquired 30,69% of the votes after 100% of the voting bulletins have been processed. According to the “Politis” newspaper, DISY will acquire 19 out of 56 seats in the Parliament. The second place is taken by the Communist Labor Progressive party of Cyprus (AKEL) -25,67% and 15 seats respectively. The third place is allocated to the Central Democratic Party (DIKO) – 14,49% (9 seats). 66,74% of the population entitled to vote have participated in the elections. The observers have noted an uncommonly high percentage of people who decided not to participate in the elections – 33,26% of the electorate.
