Fire destroys restaurant warehouse in Ayia Napa

Ayia Napa, Cyprus. A wooden restaurant warehouse was completely destroyed after a fire broke out in a reed bed on Thursday, while two adjacent buildings sustained damage.

The fire brigade responded to the incident at 4.08pm, according to spokesman Andreas Kettis.

Damage and investigation

The fire destroyed the warehouse and its contents, including electrical appliances, chairs and tables.

Two nearby storage facilities containing electrical goods were also affected.

An investigation into the cause of the fire has been launched.
