Firefighters pumped water from two flooded basements in Paphos and Larnaca, while a car fire in Strovolos is being investigated as possible arson.
Nicosia, Cyprus. Firefighters pumped water from the basements of two properties on Friday after heavy rain affected parts of the island, fire service spokesman Andreas Kettis said on Saturday.
Flooded properties
The two properties were located in Paphos and Larnaca, Kettis said.
Car fire in Strovolos
Firefighters were also called on Friday evening after a parked car in Strovolos was set on fire. A local resident extinguished the blaze before the fire service arrived.
Initial examinations indicate that the fire may have been started maliciously.
