Paphos, Cyprus. Police have arrested an 18-year-old fourth suspect in connection with a robbery and assault case involving delivery couriers in Paphos.

The teenager was arrested at about 2:30pm after officers obtained testimony allegedly implicating him. Three other suspects arrested earlier remain in custody to facilitate the investigation.

Investigation

Paphos CID is investigating alleged offences of conspiracy to commit a felony and misdemeanour, riotous conduct, robbery, assault causing actual bodily harm, illegal possession and transport of an offensive weapon, common assault and malicious damage.

The offences are alleged to have been committed in Paphos on the night of August 18.

Reported attacks

According to the case details, a 26-year-old food delivery driver was attacked in the Moutallos area at about 8:40pm after an unknown man, accompanied by three others, allegedly refused to pay for an order and threw a stone at him.

Other couriers arrived after being alerted. About 10 unknown men, some allegedly carrying metal objects, then attacked the group, knocking over and damaging their motorcycles.

Second incident

Four of the unknown men then allegedly drove to another part of Moutallos, where three of them attacked a 22-year-old courier who had just completed a delivery.

The courier was allegedly robbed of cash and his mobile phone before the assailants fled to an unknown location.
