Limassol, Cyprus. A 25-year-old man was remanded for four days on Tuesday by the Limassol district court in connection with incidents involving alleged motorcycle theft, assault, threats, knife possession and attacking a police officer.

Police received a tip at around 4pm on Monday about an unknown person pushing a motorcycle that had been reported stolen days earlier. Before officers arrived, the complainant allegedly approached the man in a friendly manner, after which the suspect allegedly attacked and threatened him with a knife.

Arrest and alleged attacks

When police arrived, the suspect reportedly attacked the complainant’s friend and was arrested. During the arrest, he reportedly also attacked police officers.

Knife seized and court appearance

A body search found the suspect was carrying a knife, which was confiscated. The man appeared before the Limassol district court on Tuesday morning.
