Limassol court sentences 24-year-old to life for double murder in 2024

Limassol, Cyprus. A Limassol criminal court on Tuesday sentenced a 24-year-old man to life in prison for the 2024 murder of two men in Limassol. The court found him guilty of the double murder of Andreas Kouzoupis, 39, and David Chmelar, 38, from Slovakia.

Victims found in charred vehicle

The two men were found in a charred vehicle off the Parekklisia-Kellaki road in July 2024.

Second defendant still on trial

The trial is continuing for a second defendant, a 20-year-old man, who also faces charges of premeditated murder in connection with the deaths of the two men.

Autopsy findings

An official autopsy later found that both victims had been shot in the head before the vehicle was set on fire.
