Mostly clear weather with isolated mountain showers expected

Nicosia, Cyprus. Wednesday will be mostly clear, with increased cloud cover expected after noon, particularly in the mountains, where isolated showers are possible. Inland temperatures are forecast to reach around 39C.

Wednesday forecast

Temperatures will rise to around 32C on the west and southwestern coasts, around 34C on the remaining coastal areas and around 28C in the higher mountains.

Winds will initially be mild at around 3 Beaufort before gradually becoming mainly southwest to northwest at up to 4 Beaufort. The sea will generally be calm to slightly rough.

Night conditions

The weather will remain mainly clear overnight, although low cloud cover may temporarily increase in coastal areas.

Light fog or mist may form locally during the early morning hours, mainly in the southeast. Temperatures are expected to fall to around 23C inland and on the coast, and around 17C in the higher mountains.

Winds will gradually become gentle at around 3 Beaufort, while the sea will be calm to slightly rough.

Outlook

Thursday, Friday and Saturday are expected to be mainly clear across most areas of the island, with periods of increased cloudiness.

Clouds developing after noon inland and in the higher mountains may bring isolated showers and thunderstorms. Local sparse fog or mist and increased low cloud cover are also expected during evening and morning hours.
