Nicosia, Cyprus. Nine Christmas villages will operate across Cyprus from November 21 to January 6, 2027, the deputy ministry of tourism announced on Friday. The initiative aims to promote the local character of participating communities and attract local and foreign visitors.
Participating communities
The Christmas villages will be located in Agros, Deryneia, Kakopetria, Kalopanayiotis, Kyperounta, Lefkara, Lofou, Statos-Ayios Fotios and Fikardou.
The locations were selected following a review of applications from community and municipal councils participating in the Heartland of Legends route grant scheme.
Activities and attractions
The villages will include festive decorations and wooden stalls selling local products and crafts. Workshops on crafts, wine and gastronomy will also be held.
Visitors will be able to join nature activities, including walking and cycling, as well as guided village tours and other events.
Future expansion
The deputy ministry said the initiative has been running for five years and is planned to be expanded and enriched annually.
Details of the programme and activities will be published on the dedicated Christmas Villages website.
