Nissi Beach recorded 258,371 Instagram posts, averaging 383 posts per metre. It was the highest-ranked beach in Cyprus and the only Cypriot beach to feature in the global top 20.
Fig Tree Bay in Protaras ranked 60th worldwide, with 59,696 posts across 818 metres, or 73 posts per metre.
Cyprus ranked eighth among 36 countries based on the performance of each country’s highest-ranked beach.
Global results
Bondi Beach in Australia topped the list with more than two million posts. Venice Beach in the United States ranked second, followed by Coogee Beach in Australia.
Padang Padang in Indonesia and Waikiki in the United States were also among the global top 10.
Study methodology
The study analysed more than 160 well-known beaches, with only those exceeding 50,000 Instagram posts qualifying for the ranking. Data was collected on August 5.
