Paphos, Cyprus. Cyprus-based startup Sainni has developed an artificial intelligence sales assistant designed to support sales teams from identifying prospective customers to coaching representatives during live calls and completing administrative work after meetings.

Founded by chief executive Briken Bufi and chief operating officer Christina Anastasiadou, the company says it aims to move sales technology beyond automation towards real-time decision making.

Addressing live-call support

Anastasiadou said she identified a recurring challenge while training customer support teams across four continents: representatives received feedback only after customer calls had ended.

She said Sainni was created to provide support during conversations, when sales representatives need it.

Bufi, who previously worked as a sales and growth leader at European technology companies and trained more than 450 sales representatives in over 15 countries, said sales staff often spend much of their time on administrative tasks rather than selling.

These tasks include updating customer relationship management systems, writing follow-up emails and preparing notes, he said.

Real-time sales assistance

According to Bufi, customer relationship management systems record deals but do not help sales teams secure them, while other tools provide post-call reports after the opportunity to influence a conversation has passed.

He said Sainni listens to conversations in real time and provides guidance during meetings.

Anastasiadou said the platform covers the wider sales process, beginning with identifying people a company wants to contact and continuing through live meetings and follow-up work.

The assistant can write follow-up emails, take notes and update customer relationship management systems, she said.

Cyprus expansion plans

The founders chose to establish Sainni in Paphos after spending eight years in Vienna, saying Cyprus offered a fast-moving business environment for a technology startup.

The company has also taken part in the Plug and Play Tirana accelerator programme and plans to secure its first recurring subscribers.
