Paphos, Cyprus. Paphos Municipality will present a programme of opera, cinema, concerts and other cultural events in September 2026, with performances by artists from Cyprus and abroad during the first half of the month.


Opera at Medieval Castle Square

The Pafos Aphrodite Festival 2026 will take place on September 4 and 5 at Medieval Castle Square, featuring Gaetano Donizetti’s 1832 opera L’Elisir d’Amore.

The Alexander Spendiaryan National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre of Armenia will perform with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra and artists from Armenia and other countries. Tickets are available through www.ticketmaster.cy and ACS Courier outlets.

Free cinema and music events

The Cyprus Film Archive and Paphos Municipality will screen Cast Away at the Attikon Open-Air Theatre on September 8 at 8pm. Admission will be free.

Orchestra Lumiere will perform film soundtracks and melodies in new arrangements at the Attikon Open-Air Theatre on September 9 at 8pm. The event forms part of the Cultural Decentralisation Programme 2026 and will have free admission.

The concert series will also visit Melini village’s central square on September 11, Simou village square on October 2 and Panagia village’s Community Council Square on October 3. All performances are scheduled for 8pm with free admission.

Giannis Kotsiras concert

Greek singer Giannis Kotsiras will perform at Medieval Castle Square on September 10 at 8.30pm as part of his summer tour.

The programme is also expected to continue during the second half of September with further concerts, outdoor film screenings, photography exhibitions, theatre performances, Cuban nights and stand-up comedy.
