Nicosia, Cyprus. Police arrested 12 individuals during overnight operations in urban areas aimed at preventing crime. The arrests involved suspected theft, breaking and entering, illegal possession of drugs and property, and residence on the island without a permit.

Police officers stopped 583 vehicles and checked 822 drivers and passengers during the operations.

Traffic offences

A total of 316 people were reported, including 115 for speeding, 10 for drink driving and one for driving under the influence of drugs. A further 12 people are under investigation for various traffic offences.

Police impounded 10 vehicles.

Police also inspected 69 establishments and filed 11 reports.
