Police in Paphos investigate suspected vehicle arson after early-morning fire

Paphos, Cyprus. Police in Paphos are investigating a suspected case of vehicle arson after a car caught fire in the early hours of Wednesday. The vehicle was destroyed.

According to initial reports, the blaze erupted at around 3.30am in a car belonging to a 35-year-old man, which was parked in a village in the Paphos district.

Fire extinguished, car destroyed

Fire brigade members arrived at the scene and managed to extinguish the fire, but the vehicle was destroyed.

Scene examinations indicate deliberate setting

Examinations carried out at the scene later in the morning indicated that the fire had been set deliberately.
