Tochni, Cyprus. Police are investigating suspected poaching after a 35-year-old man was caught on Wednesday morning attempting to gather wild birds trapped in nets. Officers also found a device mimicking bird calls operating at the time.


Anti-poaching patrol intervention

The man was spotted by an anti-poaching patrol in Tochni, in the Larnaca district. The patrol stopped him and released four wild birds believed to be thrushes.

Investigation

The suspect was taken to Zygi police station, which will be investigating the case.
