Pope Francis expresses solidarity with the refugees

Pope Francis has announced that he will travel to the Greek island Lesbos on Saturday in order to express solidarity with the refugees, who are staying there as well as the local population and Greek nations as a whole for their friendly acceptance of the refugees.

In connection with the upcoming trip to Lesbos, it has been mentioned that Pope Francis has made his first trip outside of Vatican he made on 8th of July 2013 to the Italian island Lampedusa, which became one of the main European centers accepting refugees from the Middle East and Nothern Africa. Since then, the Pope continuously requested to show solidarity with the refugees, who are trying to get away from the war and humanitarian crisis, as well as asked people to show sympathy to the individuals concerned.
