A 56-year-old scooter rider remains in critical condition after a collision with a motorcycle in Limassol.

Limassol, Cyprus. A 56-year-old scooter rider was seriously injured in a collision with a motorcycle on Chr. Hatzipavlou Street at around 6pm on Sunday, police said.

The 35-year-old motorcyclist sustained abrasions and bruising. Limassol Traffic Police are investigating the circumstances of the collision.


Collision and injuries

Police said the impact caused the motorcycle to skid along the road before coming to rest under a bus parked at a nearby stop.

Both riders were taken by ambulance to private hospitals in Limassol.

Doctors said the 56-year-old suffered a skull fracture, a ruptured spleen and a collapsed lung, and remains in critical condition.

Investigation

The motorcyclist was tested for alcohol and drugs, with both results negative, police said.

Limassol Traffic Police are continuing their investigation.
