Paphos, Cyprus. An 18-year-old was arrested on Tuesday in connection with last week’s alleged group attack on five delivery drivers in the Moutallos area of Paphos.

Police said the teenager was arrested at about 2.30pm and is being investigated for conspiracy to commit a felony, robbery and assault causing actual bodily harm.

Previous arrests

Three other suspects have already been arrested in connection with the case and remain in custody as investigations continue.

The four suspects are alleged to have been involved in attacks on five delivery drivers on the evening of August 18.

Alleged sequence of events

The incident reportedly began when a 26-year-old delivery driver arrived in the area to deliver an order.

An unknown man, allegedly accompanied by three others, refused to pay for the order and attacked the driver by throwing a stone at him, police said.

The driver informed colleagues, who went to the area. At the same time, about 10 men, some allegedly carrying metal objects, arrived at the scene.

The group allegedly attacked the delivery drivers, knocking them to the ground and damaging their motorcycles.

Second alleged attack

Police said four members of the group later entered a vehicle and headed towards Moutallos, where they saw a 22-year-old delivery driver who had just completed an order.

Three men allegedly got out of the vehicle, attacked the driver and robbed him of cash and his mobile phone before fleeing.
