Aradippou, Cyprus. Three firefighters were hospitalised after a fire broke out at a frozen food factory in Aradippou on Monday afternoon. The fire service said the three developed symptoms of heat exhaustion and respiratory problems during the operation.

The fire service said the initial report of the fire was received at around 1 pm. It added that the fire was brought under full control by approximately 9 pm.

Hospitalisation of firefighters

According to the fire service, the three members of the service were transported by ambulance to the emergency department of Larnaca general hospital after presenting symptoms of heat exhaustion and respiratory problems.

Resources deployed

The fire service said the Larnaca, Nicosia and EMAK district fire stations responded with eight fire engines, two breathing apparatus vehicles, a hydraulic telescopic platform and the advanced command centre of the fire service headquarters.
