Tips for Cyprus travellers to cut airport costs and save time

Nicosia, Cyprus. Travellers flying from Cyprus can compare services at Larnaca and Paphos airports, use online parking bookings and consider public transport to reduce travel costs.

Comparing airports and parking

Travellers in Nicosia and Limassol may usually search flights from Larnaca, while passengers in western Cyprus may focus on Paphos. Checking both airports may reveal different fares, baggage allowances and return flight times.

Hermes Airports’ flight search includes routes and airlines operating from both Cyprus airports. Online airport parking bookings can offer savings of up to 45 per cent.

Public transport options

Both airports are served by public buses and airport coaches, including Kapnos Airport Shuttle and Limassol Airport Express.

At Paphos airport, routes 612 and 613 link the terminal with the Tombs of the Kings and Karavela bus stations. Daytime tickets currently cost €2.

Passengers are advised to check the latest schedules through the airport transport page, particularly for late-night journeys.

Check-in and baggage services

Passengers travelling with hand luggage can proceed to security after checking in online. Those with checked baggage can use self-tagging kiosks at both airports.

According to Hermes Airports, the machines print luggage labels in under 10 seconds. Passengers attach the labels and leave their bags at designated counters.

Duty-free collection service

Passengers travelling within the EU can use the free Shop & Collect service to buy goods before departure and collect them when they return to Cyprus.

The service can be used for items such as bottles and bulky gifts. Online duty-free orders can be placed up to 24 hours before departure at Larnaca airport and up to 72 hours before departure at Paphos airport, according to airport shopping information.
