Nicosia, Cyprus. Treehouse Films will present an evening of nature documentaries at Antonakis Music Hall on September 23, focusing on stories of people, animals and landscapes.

Screenings

The event will feature four recent productions by the natural history production house, examining people’s relationship with land, coexistence with wildlife, a river’s course and the story of Panagis, a young Mediterranean monk seal.

An Ally to Farmers and Nature is a 20-minute film about agriculture, biodiversity and efforts to enable food production and nature conservation to coexist.

The 16-minute film Paths we Share is set in the mountains of Greece and Italy, where people and brown bears share the same space.

Wild Lyrics: A New Sound for the Liri River explores water as a starting point for bringing together nature, people, culture and sound.

The Incredible Story of Panagis follows the journey of the young Mediterranean monk seal from his rescue to his return to the sea.

Discussion and event details

The screenings will be followed by a discussion and Q&A in Greek with Haris Nicolaou, biodiversity officer at the Department of Forests; Iakovos Tzortzis, biologist at the Water Development Department; Tasos Chouvardas, a social dimensions specialist; Kallisto; and Treehouse Films director Konstantinos Christou.

The event begins at 7.30pm. Films will be screened in Greek with English subtitles. Entrance is free with online registration.
