Paphos, Cyprus. Police arrested two men, aged 39 and 28, in connection with the theft of an electric generator in the Paphos district, authorities said on Monday.

Theft report and recovery

The case was reported at around 6.20pm on Sunday after an employee said an electric generator had been stolen from a fenced construction site near the Tsada–Stroumpi road.

Shortly afterwards, officers stopped a vehicle in the district that was towing a generator. Police said the driver, 39, and his 28-year-old passenger failed to explain how they obtained it and were arrested for illegal possession of property.

Police later confirmed the generator was the one reported stolen.

Additional offences

Further checks found the 39-year-old was driving without a licence, insurance, roadworthiness certificate or valid registration. Police said the vehicle had been deregistered since October 2025.
