Vehicle fire sparks blaze in Menoyia carob fields

Menoyia, Cyprus. A small forest fire that began after a vehicle caught fire was brought under control within 20 minutes on Sunday, the forestry department said. The blaze spread across around two acres of carob fields.

Fire response

The fire broke out at around 2.50pm and was extinguished at 3.10pm.

Eight forestry department personnel with three fire engines attended the scene, while a further six firefighters responded with two fire engines.
